Herb Bruce - bio

Herb Bruce is an American trombonist. He is known for his versatility on commercial and jazz trombone styles.

Personal Life
Herb lives in North Port, Florida. He is married and loves cats (he has three indoor cats and six feral cats) and BMW’s.

Early Life and Musical Journey
Herb was raised in Louisville, Kentucky and studied with the great John Albrecht, affectionately known as “The Coach” and adored by the entire trombone community in Louisville. He attended Vanderbilt University’s Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee.

Musical Career Highlights
Herb has performed with a long list of artists and orchestras.

Most recently, he was Guest Artist at the 2023 International Trombone Festival in Salt Lake City.

In addition to performing, Herb manufactures and markets the Herb Bruce Custom trombone collection, created to meet the changing needs of professional players.

He also provides specialized seminars and master classes to help students improve pitch and technique, increase playing time, interpret various styles of music, maximize equipment efficiency and survive the music business.
